Metabolic syndrome refers to the combination of abdominal obesity, hypertension, dyslipidaemia and insulin resistance.

Hidradenitis suppurativa
What is the cause?
Hidradenitis suppurativa, also called acne inversa, is another androgenic chronic skin condition. It is more common in obese subjects (males and females) and may be a feature of polycystic ovary syndrome. Comedones, inflammatory papules and nodules, sinuses and scars affect axillae, submammary, genital and perianal skin.
