What is the name for the skin condition?
Steroid acne - a monomorphous folliculitis, which may affect face, neck and upper trunk. Typically, comedones are absent. Microscopy and culture of pustules is usually unrevealing, but Malassezia yeasts may be identified.
What medications may be responsible?
Systemic corticosteroids
What management would you recommend?
The eruption usually settles as the steroid dose is reduced, but it may persist until treated with topical keratolytic agents (benzoyl peroxide) and if necessary, an oral azole.
